Well my sewing machine is the Singer 403 A, (Lucky was sold on ebay due to me being in a money crunch) its a vintage![]()
machine that comes with loads of attachments and unlike machines today it is gear driven instead of belt driven, which makes it much more powerful. It was a steal my boyfriend found it up in Vegas for $50 (had that person known anything about machines, he could have gotten way more for it). It comes with cams to do the different stitches, but I want to get the vintage Automatic Zigzagger for it. It uses the singer exclusive slant needle system which allows you to see the fabric better as you are sewing.
My serger is a Janome 3434D (I’m the type of person that sticks to a brand when I find great quality and Janome is great quality). I have yet to learn how to use it, but hope to learn this summer so that I can have projects that present a professional quality. I chose this serger because I felt that it was a very great “beginner” oriented. I needed a serger with basic features, but something that I knew would be with me for a while.
