A few years ago I joined the Romantic Style KAL, I was working on the Lacy Bed Socks. I sucessfully worked the first four rows of the pattern, all knit rows, but when I got to the picot edge row I realized that I was always short one stitch. I thought it might have been the method of circular knitting I was using so I tried DPNs, Circs and one 12” addi turbo…nothing worked! I even went so far as to ask people at my LYS for help, but no one knew why I was short one stitch! I didn’t want to let these beautiful socks defeat me so I tried again using the magic loop teachnique…but no matter what I was still short one stitch! Yesterday I posted on the Knitting LJ and after lots of chatter, knitting, and reknitting…I finally figured it out thanks to tashabear. I discovered that when I come to the end of the picot edge row I don’t add the yo as the last stitch I always stopped on a k2tog. So now everything is in working order, I also had to learn to decrease sts evenly…so I used this handy dandy calculator. And I must say thus far I love the Magic Loop technique now I don’t have to fumble with DPNs!
